How to add Two-Factor Authentication to Facebook

Two-factor authentication is a security feature that helps protect your Facebook account in addition to your password. If you set up two-factor authentication, you’ll be asked to enter a special login code or confirm your login attempt each time someone tries accessing Facebook from a browser or mobile device that Facebook doesn’t recognize. You can also get alerts when someone tries logging in from a browser or mobile device that Facebook doesn’t recognize.

How to add Two-Factor Authentication to Facebook

1. Log in to your Facebook Account

2. Go to the Security and login page.

3. On the Security and login page scroll down and find Two-factor authentication.

4. Click on Use Two-factor authentication and Enter Your Facebook Password.

When you set up two-factor authentication on Facebook, you’ll be asked to choose one of three security methods:

  • Tapping your security key on a compatible device.
  • Login codes from a third-party authentication app.
  • Text message (SMS) codes from your mobile phone.

We recommend using “Text message (SMS) codes from your mobile phone.”

5. Enter your Correct mobile number and set up two-factor authentication on Facebook.

  1. Hey! It’s saying I need to authenticate my number whenever I press continue after entering it. The same when I put in a code from the authentication app it says I need to authenticate first before continuing. What does this mean and how do I proceed? I’m now locked out of my Facebook.
